I have two china sets, but I needed something for every day, and I needed something for a big holiday. This is the best set out there after doing all my research. This ultra strong china, can be put in a warmer draw, microwave, dishwasher etc. You can use it for holidays and it goes with everything. I have service for 16 and use it for all my big holidays. It is versatile, and looks beautiful.

I bought 2 sets of this and am using them everyday. They didn’t look as pretty as I expected at first,and I couldn’t be so sure if it was a good buy considering the price. But the set definitely gives a warm & comfotable feeling. They are so durable that last week,I accidently banged one of the mug to the corner of my kitchen counter tile so hard but it didn’t break nor crecked. There’s just one thing that I don’t like; the inside of the mugs is not really smooth. I don’t know why they came out like this. You might need to wash them (the inside of the mugs) carefully; otherwise there might be some leftover coffee stain.

I am glad I found these dishes on Amazon for such a great price (plus free shipping, imagine that!). They’re cheaper on Amazon than going to the Mikasa Outlet, even with the 25% discount they’re offering due to some stores closing. They’re beautiful and sturdy–very happy with my purchase.

I would have given this set of dishes a five star rating if not for the fact that the cereal bowls do not stack compactly. I have limited space and I thought the 4 piece set with the mugs and not the tea cup & saucer would take up less room in the cupboard. On the contrary the cereal bowls are immense and do not sit snugly within one another. I have 6 of my 12 place settings, loosely piled on top of one another and they stack up to over 12 inches high. No room for the other 6 in my tiny kitchen. The design of Mikasa Antique White is the china duplicate of Mikasa’s French Contry Side stoneware. I have had that pattern for about 16 years (guess I like it well enough). After all the years, many had broken or cracked. I wanted another set of white everyday dishes that could be used for a special occasion if needed. I have several of the French Country Side serving pieces and the Scotch in me just could not throw them away. I decided the china version of the very same pattern was just the ticket. The stoneware did not hold up very well to being put in the microwave. The china should do just fine. I will follow up if it does not. The finish is very nice, like fine china. They look just like the dishes I saw and held in my hand at the Macy’s downtown. Only I paid 25% less for them on Amazon and I saved on tax too. The mug is a great size. I never did like the smaller cup and saucer that came with my previous stoneware set. It did not hold much tea or coffee and was uncomfortable in your hand. The new set arrived here, on the west coast, from P.A., in tact, in only 4 or 5 days. Do not hesitate to make a purchase if you like the pattern. Mikasa is a nice quality product. I can vouch for the fact that this pattern is one you will not tire of quickly.

Mikasa makes some excellent dinnerware and this set is one of their classics. It really leans more toward China than everyday ware since it looks more classic and is lighter. Quality is excellent and Amazon shipped it perfectly.

I have a type of dinnerware that’s very similar to Fiesta, Metlox Colorstax, and it gets knifemarks the way people are describing getting on Fiestaware. To get them off, I make a paste of Bon Ami cleanser & water, rub the paste all over the scratched parts of dish, leave the paste on for several minutes to half an hour, scrub the dish, then rinse it off. The knife marks disappear to a great extent because they are *on* the glaze, not cut into it. I imagine this would work as well with Fiestaware as it does Colorstax.

We purchased our Fiestaware set in cobalt two years ago. Overall, we have been very satisfied: no breaks or chips whatsoever. The color is as deep and bright as the first day, even though we are constantly putting it in the dishwasher. We only have two issues with the set. One is that there are scratches visible if you tilt the plates into the light. It is disappointing that scratches would show from ordinary use with a fork and knife. An additional complaint is that when we use them in the microwave, the plate/bowl becomes very hot, long before the food is cooked. We get by using a hot pad or oven mit when handling the dish, but be advised that you may need to heat up the food longer than with other dishes. In spite of these two problems, however, we intend to keep these dishes forever, or pass them onto family who need a spare. They are VERY durable, aside from the scratches.

I can’t say enough good things about fiestaware, I’m
addicted!! The colors are so great, I really love this
persimmon, but the sunflower , plum, periwinkle and
turquoise are pretty as well. Another great thing is
the durability, I have never had a chip or scratch and
I’m pretty tough on dishes. Also, I am impressed
with Amazon, they have great customer service!

I bought two full dinnerware sets and eight soup bowls in cobalt blue. I have only had my Fiestaware for a couple of weeks and the dinner plates are already visibly scratched through normal use! I have waited a long time to buy my Fiestaware and was not disappointed when I first unpacked it. However, I hadn’t counted on this scratching problem. I don’t recall that the old Fiestaware scratched this easily. I am hoping that the lighter colored glazes don’t have this problem if I replace the dinner plates. I am going to hold off on buying any more pieces until I see how the other pieces hold up.

Fed up with chipped rims and not being able to microwave them, I decided it was time to replace my Crate & Barrel stoneware with something more durable and practical. All my wishes were granted with my new Fiestaware. Everything about this set is great.
- Extremely durable (and I’m a klutz, so it’s important to me that I can bang them around a little without them breaking or chipping)
- Microwaveable. Yay!
- Nice profile – the china is not overly thick and the dishes don’t sit tall on their rims, so they don’t make a giant high pile in my cupboard. I didn’t think of this until after I washed them and put them away; then I noticed they stacked lower than my previous dishes. A nice bonus.
- Pretty. I’m a big fan of cooking magazines. Ever notice they frequently photograph food on white plates? It’s because white doesn’t clash with the color of any food, so nothing looks “off,” ever. The subtle banding in the surface is just enough interest that they’re not boring.
- Made in the USA. I feel good about that.
All that and reasonably priced, too. I couldn’t be happier with my new dishes.
